V&V Analyst Engineer III

SUMMARY:
The Engineer III - V&V Analyst is responsible for performing various analyses (Structural / Thermal / Fluid Flow / Rigid Body Dynamics / Magneto-Statics / Fracture Mechanics, etc.,) and correlating math models with test results.  The Engineer III - V&V Analyst is part of the verification and validation team and will support of all fluid product lines (Navy/Space/Industrial).  The Engineer III - V&V Analyst will work within a cross-functional team setting, performing analyses on components from all equipment categories from fully recurring (heritage), through modified, to new designs as well as existing production (failure investigations).  The Engineer III - V&V Analyst will support the product life cycle phases from proof-of-concept through system/subsystem model or prototype demonstration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties include:
• Perform stress, crack growth, fluid flow pressure drop, thermal, and rigid body dynamic analyses using classical hand calculation methods and standard math model software (FEA, CFD, etc.)
• Document analysis results in clear concise reports in support of customer SDRL's
• Assist in preparing and presenting design review packages, providing technical support for internal / external customers, and interfacing with customers when requested.
• Correlate various math models with test data to support prediction modelling.
• Provide input to establish company standards for modeling and simulation.
• Develop simplified methodologies and tools to automate analysis process for use by design team early in the design cycle.
• Create / alter CAD geometry using Siemens NX/Autodesk Inventor to perform analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must meet the following criteria:
• Analysis experience must include CAD modeling and ability to perform Linear / Non-Linear, Static / Dynamic FEA, CFD, Fracture Mechanics, Magneto-Static analyses and Thermal as well as hand calculations based on first principles.
• Ability and desire to learn how to perform correlation of math models with test data.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering theory, methods, and practices.
• Extensive experience with technical computer aided engineering (CAE) software such as NX NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, EASY5 / AMESIM, MathCAD, MS Excel, NASGRO, Autodesk Flow / CFDesign, NX CAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Capability to read and interpret Blueprint and schematic drawings.
• Experience with, and understanding of, military, aerospace, and industry specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills both orally and written.
• Capacity to compose technical reports/data in support of customer deliverables.
• Proficient in interpreting and analyzing mechanical specifications and data.
• Competence to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Working knowledge of MS computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship or permanent U.S. residency status.
• Adeptness to establish priorities, organize work, and be held accountable to budget and schedule.
• Possess interpersonal skills required to build relationships and work in a team environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.S. degree in Aerospace/Mechanical, Engineering Mechanics, or other relevant degrees from or a four-year college or university; a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering analysis or related experience and/or training, preferably in an Aerospace or Defense manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Due to the nature of our Defense contracts, U.S. Citizenship is required.
