Manages the development and implementation of the Quality Engineering function to ensure that VACCO Navy Products and Services meet specifications and contractual agreements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a high level of communication and credibility with DCMA, Customer Source Inspectors, Regulatory Agencies and other external quality personnel.
Recommend Quality Management System changes when changes are required by industry, contract requirements or audit findings.
Primary Customer Interface on field Navy Quality problems.
Responsible for overall Navy Material Review Board (MRB) and associated corrective/preventive action process performance.
Support audits by Navy customers, government, and regulatory agencies.
Implement all necessary corrective actions requirements by results of Internal or customer audits. Initiate VACCO response to Navy related DCMA Corrective Actions (DCMA CARS) or Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR's) and/or any associated customer deficiency reports.
Manage Navy Quality Engineering personnel required to fulfill the requirements of VACCO Quality Assurance Procedures.
Report on the Navy PG metrics at VACCO’s monthly Product Line Meeting.
Execute Quality Engineering functions on all assigned projects.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's of Science degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university and a minimum of six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of supervisory experience is required.
