Photo Tool Designer

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the design of photographic tooling to enable the successful production of parts according to customer specifications. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interpreting customer drawings, and being able to use that information to manufacture them in production to customer specification and requirements.

Determining etch factor/compensation to best manufacture parts to customer specification and requirements.

Generate tooling and transfer to Gerber format, sending to outside vendor to plot film.

Produce finished tooling by registration and pinning. 

Routing all plotted film to Quality Assurance for First Article Inspection process and buy off.

Preparing layouts and tabbing configurations using computer assisted design/drafting software.

Using general cleaning to maintain the rigidity of the photo tool, and repairing damaged artwork.

Prepares and generates Requisitions and issues P.O.’s for outside plotting and film processes.

Order necessary supplies to complete assigned projects i.e. plotted films, adhesives, pins, tool storage supplies etc.

Experience in using AutoCad, and 3d software.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A B.A. Degree from college or University with a minimum of one (1) year of experience; preferably in a Photochemical Milling/Chemical Etching, or similar manufacturing environment.
