Sr. Quality Engineer

SUMMARY:
Evaluate quality processes, procedures and statistical techniques, analyze production and service limitations and standards.  Interfaces with all engineering departments, Customers and  suppliers on quality related issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze compiled data from tests and inspection reports to identify problems.  Reviews data and submits results to Quality Control for review and action with regards to any rejected materials.

Leads failure investigations, issues corrective action, preventative action, continuous improvement and customer complaints to the responsible parties.

Assist production personnel with quality issues, approves or rejects any rework/repair instructions for discrepant material.

Review all quotes/contracts, work orders, Purchase Requisitions, Assembly Procedures (AP) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).

Request and coordinate customer/government source inspection needs between customer, government and VACCO.  Attends meetings involving customer/government source representatives as required to the program.

Prepare and review final data package, making sure an acceptable quality product is delivered  to the customer.

Perform internal audit as well as assists in completing "external" audits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline with minimum of eight (8) years of experience and/or training in a Quality Assurance Department in an Aerospace manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
