Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Sales & Marketing Administration and Director, Sales & Marketing, coordinates and optimizes VACCO proposal process activities as assigned. Pro actively supports assigned product group on proposal process and other related marketing/sales activities with engineering, contracts, purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing and finance as required.
Emphasis on expanding proposal response on-time capabilities, reducing bid and proposal costs and increasing overall customer satisfaction (reducing bid cycle time). Optimize VACCO's Business Development's infrastructure with daily support to Regional Sales representatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, processes and coordinates customer RFP/RFQ/RFI inquiries as assigned.
Requests and gathers input from internal and external contributors as necessary in order to complete proposals or other customer inquiries.
Develop technical, management and cost proposals based on customer-segment opportunities, customer needs and competitive offerings for VACCO products.
Clerical duties include; coordinating proposal cost elements and organizing Excel spreadsheets from WBS outlines, processing price quotations and generating an appropriate technical proposal response in conformance to customer specifications.
Handles and resolves specific issues with VACCO proposal RFQ/RFP/RFI’s including;
• Resolution of customer RFQ/RFP/RFI supplied support documents to adequately prepare a proposal response.
• Resolution of VACCO submitted proposal details including; technical descriptions and or pricing clarity.
Above average proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) products with the ability to produce publication-quality proposal material in a timely manner. Must possess strong research skills using the Internet. Effectively manage time and projects reliably and with punctuality. Excellent analytical and communications skills, a team player and leader with high energy and initiative with a basic understanding of technical sales processes. Requires organization skills with attention to detail, experience writing in a conversational yet professional tone and style. Ability to function independently in a fast paced working environment to produce publication quality first drafts and who can effectively manage their workload with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A BA or BS degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications or a related field. Exceptional writing skills. Minimum of five years of proposal preparation experience for high technology products to government and commercial institutional customers preferably in a technical sales environment ideally in the fluid flow peripherals industry.
