Primarily responsible for the oversight of the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors and other equipment that sends wastewater through the filter system, assures that the water is pumped and contained into a safe water treatment area, remove and destroy harmful materials, chemicals and microorganisms from water..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinating equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly by collecting water samples for chemical analysis.
Operate waste water system, record meter readings, collect samples of wastewater and chemistries. May treat waste chemicals appropriately to obtain proper level results.
Operate filter press to remove sludge cake. Operates sludge dryer to dry filter cake. Transfers dried sludge to the hazardous waste bin and refill etchers.
Keep daily log of waste water treatment system and all Pad activities.
Transports hazardous materials and chemicals around the plant using a forklift
Observe tank levels maintaining operation of data recording units such as pH recorder and tank level recorder; Clean, calibrate and maintain pH instruments units.
Appropriately empty and fill all machines in Etch Room following all safety procedures currently in place.
Completes checklists and writing reports summarizing equipment status and recommendations.
Previous experience working knowledge of proper wastewater works plumbing methods and techniques. Experience with basic hand and power tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of two (2) years of related experience. An AA degree or certificate in water quality and wastewater treatment technology helpful but not required to be considered for this position.
